Summer Dreams
Climbing the old Oak tree in summer, the sun dappling the forest floor with her kisses through the leaves, Mother Earth comforting me when I was young.
Building roads, playing with trucks, catching frogs, and bugs, and such; the Cedars, Redwoods, and Pine making the air smell so devine.
Watching squrriles and deer in the late afternoon light gave me such delight. WithΒ great anticipation of the coming night of singing songs around a bonfire.
Laying in hammocks swaying in the tree's, taking afternoon naps while the warm breeze of summer blows dreams in my head.Β
The sound of Grandpa's chainsaw waking me, gave me nothing to fear, nothing to dread, knowing a tree was falling; somewhere.
Yes my warm days of Β young summer play have long since fallen away much like the old Oak tree that I so loved to climb, but when a warm breeze of summer comes my way I still wish to go out, and play.
