Summers Passing

The last of the orange tiger lilies fade away
The heats sweat beads up upon my. forehead and skin
As the. hottest month of August draws near to its end
The monarach butterfly makes its last visit before his long journey flight
The crickets.and grasshoppers start to appear everywhere as the cornfields empty out
Squash, acorn, butternut,  and pumpkin are displayed at the farmers markets
The green of the trees and the grass begin to change in shade
While the season changes the sky speaks to us
In mystical cloud formation
As the last warm wind blows my hair and I sit at the park eating a melting ice cream cone
When things are not what they seem to be in our world
The summer finds me in a calmimg peace as the birds drink and bathe from flowing water fountain
Summers passing makes me sad but keeps me dreaming
As I pray for my son and the troops, and civilians to be safe and come home
