Sun Spot
My heart is conflicted as I reflect Β
Since my love for you cannot be measured
It wells up inside me so warm and real
Concrete in the center of my being
Like a melting sun shining ever bright
It fills me with such happinessβ¦

But you are gone my love
Stolen in a twist of cosmic fate
Torn from my side with no thought or feeling
Vibrantly breathing⦠then silent
I wince from the stabbing grief
As loving sunshine darkens with a spot

Mingled within the chambers of my heart
Both love and sadness collide abruptly
I try to hold on, to remember the warmth
But the dark spot is strong and abiding
It will not let me forget⦠let me confide
In the happiness we found together
Β
I miss you my love⦠every single day
And the sunspot still lingers in happiness
Someday perhaps the collision will ebb
Iβll look back on our time and shine brightly
But in this moment of reflected repose
I cannot hold the warmth with death so close

With all my soul, my heart, my breath
