SUPPOSED TO BE

I knew a little girl
With the most caring soul and heart
It was that one trauma in her life
That tore her apart, she became so reliant on herself
She had to put on a brave face and be so strong
That's what people expect, don't they?
I understand everyone has a background and a story to tell
But what if one day you fell, and now you can't get back up
Like your body, mind and soul have had enough
People around you act differently, is this how it's supposed to be?
A little girl lost her faith
Mascara rolled down her face
The tears stained her cheeks
This pain didn't go away in a matter of weeks or years
It continues day in day out, no one can help
Her mind doesn't let her forget the torment of her past
It's something that will remain apart of her life
She can't escape it in the day nor at night
It's a never ending nightmare.
