Surprise Christmas

Surprise Christmas

Rain patted on the window, as the little girl looked out,
She was watching people with presents, wondering what it's all about,
Here she was peering out, a little girl all alone,
Ever since she lost her parents, now in an orphan home.

Why do they have presents, and where were they all going,
All these thoughts puzzled the girl, she the memory of knowing,
She knew a little of Santa Claus, she thinks he might of existed,
But all good memories were gone, now fragmented stories all twisted.

"Light's out" she heard the nun call, it was time to go to bed,
Who was this Santa Claus, she couldn't stop her racing head,
Slowly she headed for bed, through the clouds appeared one star,
I'm calling to you please Santa Claus, show me who you are.Β

Three in the morning she heard a sound, she thought it was the boys,
She whispered out loudly, "Stop making all that noise",
Grogily her eyes openedup, a figure at the end of her bed,
A large jolly man with a big white beard, dressed in white and red.

His big warm smile settled her down, as she pointed at this man,
His finger went up to his lips, and shushed her as he began,
"Yes I am Mr Santa Claus, I heard you call out for me,
I was going to deliver your presents, but I could not find your tree".

Just then he pulled a gift out, and placed it on her bed,
"This one is especially for you" Mr Santa said,
He waved to the girl and went to leave, the little girl looked so sad,
Then she thought and realised, Christmas wasn't so bad.

Santa leaned in and kissed her head, "One day your wish will come true,
As long as you believe in me, there's nothing that you can't do",
The little girl hugged Santa Claus, and said "You are the best",
Santa had visited an ophan girl, and now she feels so blessed.

The little girl looked out the window, she thought she saw the sleigh,
It was hard to tell though through the rain, she swears it to this day,
She heard the jingles of the sleigh untill it was out of sight,
And was certain she heard a "Ho ho ho" disappearing in the night.
