Swimming With The Fish

The water was clear in Goa with the fish,
they asked me: 'Why are you here, what do you wish?'
I said that: 'I'm here because your life is serene,
swimming between coral with plants in between.'
The colours sparkled with orange, blue and indigo,
and there she was, my mermaid with a turquoise halo,
scales and tails, beautiful breasts, with bubble trails,
she said: 'Only sixty seconds left before oxygen fails.'
That was mine, not hers, but I was ready to die,
into this aquamarine heaven where time wouldn't fly,
where I would be warm but out of the sun's rays,
make love between anemones on alternate days.
I used to eat lobster but now they scuttle away,
I'm happy because thereby hangs a 'tail' so they say.

I adore this poem... you successfully took me into that world where
I could glimpse the sensation and the visual. I could put myself into that
serene space where you here your own respiration and the rhythm of your heart, That puts the focus on the underwater world and your beautiful mermaid.
