Take This Heart

As we die for our people, our life has more than soul
It is the spirit of the eagle, the heart of the creature
Where we spread our wings, and walked the earth in victory
I give you my eyes, for you can see the light, I give you my heart
Take this heart, rip it from my ribs and know that I gave everything
In love, in body and mind, where natives hunt, where white man dare to care
The trees of the forest are now naked in the wind, they hear my heart
But they know I will not appear, for I am in spirit with the sky, let the flutes sing
My name, and the shadows of the limbs be near my every step
Take this heart, and hold it high, amongst the bluest mountain sky
And I will remain in the waters, and the lands below, I shall never leave you
In the valleys death I know
