Talking Leaves

Talking Leaves

I'm on the window sill waiting to bloom,
perhaps I'll be the most beautiful plant in the room,
all my dead leaves have been taken away,
ready for my next life in the month of May.

At least I have my seasons, I'm always there,
and now I have the time to stand and stare;
I'll give you colour or silky white if you wish,
don't forget to give me a nice drink in my dish.

You want fragrance - I'll give you what heaven sent,
blessed me with beauty, everywhere I went,
I'm ready for compliments, I'll open for you,
to give my love is all I ever wanted to do.

You'll see me smile, it's the way I was made,
I hope that I''ll bring you joy before I start to fade.
