Tears At The Lamppost

There is a place that bears your sweet name, which always brings me tears;
It’s the lamppost with your plaque on it, that tells of all your years!
It reads “Our Angel Nico, 2001 to 2015”;
But it was put there too prematurely, much later I wish that it had been!
In the years we walked together, I’d see other peoples’ signs;
In memoriam to their beloved doggies, I prayed “not too early would be mine”!
I thought you would live until seventeen, much longer if I had my say;
But five months before your fourteenth birthday, you had to float away!
Now I look to your sacred nameplate, gently blowing in the breeze;
Sometimes I can hear you barking, in the winds above the trees!
My soul sends out a message, to my ever broken heart;
I touch your name upon the lamppost, as my tears begin their start!

My Brother Poet Rock,
I'm sure your Ginger was the spice of your life, just as my Nico was mine. I still cry for him every day. I want so desperately to see him again, yet I'm hoping my plane doesn't depart for quite a while.
Peace and Love,
Larry xxx

My Dear Brother Tony,
My depth of sorrow runs to depths of my soul. I loved this dog as much as any man has ever loved a child. But, unlike them, my days with him were numbered. It would take me days to explain what this little Angel brought to my life, but suffice it to say, he taught me the way of Buddha. Thank you for your kindest words.
Peace, Love and Rockets,
Larry xxx

My Dear Debs,
Here in our village, a lot of people commemorate their dearly departed precious doggies with memorial plaques. Every time we leave the house, we touch his name and throw him a kiss. Thank you for your tender message.
Hugs, Peace and Love,
