Tennessee Line

Tennessee Line

September 14th you left out. Not by choice but by force. But I loved you & for that there is no doubt . On February 14th came a day I wouldn't soon forget.

Across the Tennessee line my life awaits me. Across the blurred line is everything I've ever wanted to be. He is there, keeping us apart is simply not fair. How could you  not care ?

Years ago,  long before I knew. Across the Tennessee line , cruel words flew. They flew like bullets . Like bullets straight to your heart. You had been used to waking to coffee on the counter , with warm voices & love resounding. But now there's papers on the counter. The papers that end a fairytale . They lay there under a bottle of whiskey.

He drinks . Hard & heavy he drinks his pain away. You were but a child then. Love moved out & there was yelling  every day. Now , along the Tennessee line they meet . Swapping you out , trading . At the Tennessee line you were broken & you were forgotten. Not by me , I'll never forget you .

For a year I have laid flat on my face. But at the Tennessee line my life will begin. Apart from you is not what I wish to be , with you & with you only is when I am the true me .

"I will love you forever." Past the Tennessee  line my future awaits me .

September 14th you left out. Not by choice but by force. But I loved you & for that there is no doubt . On February 14th came a day I wouldn't soon forget

Out of anger or out of spite
In the end it doesn't matter...
