Tethered Stone

Tethered Stone

Battles waged on foreign shore
A soldier brave tis no more
Young adventuresome lad
Relinquished valor all he had
Β
Dancing on edge of a knife
So kithfolk receive a better life
Somber elegy, tethered to stone
A countryman’s name unknown
Β
Engraved script, ghostly track
Humble words on tarnishedΒ plaque
β€œHere he lay, in quietude grave
Honorable tis a life he gave”

Horizons dawn tattered low
Zephyr kissed, stirring slow
Flag of glory red, white and blue
Token of duty heroes ensue
