Texas strong

United we stand in the Lone Star state
From the sea to the city  to the woods rescuing Texas from Hurricane Harvey's hate
 on August  25th 2017 Texas was hit with Winds of 130 miles per hour
Causing major flooding death,loss of homes,family displacement and loss of electrical power
Death toll Rising daily even in my hometown of Newton the two ladies that drowned we're friends of mine
With no mandatory evacuation in order many weren't given much time
The heartbreaking videos you see on the news of a toddler clinging to his dead mother who drowned in the flood
or the contamination caused by a flooded plasma donation center of possible disease infected blood
Let's not forget the pets Left Behind can you imagine their fear

Are the little babies exhausted from crying but manage one more tear
Neighboring states rush to our aid even Mexico lending 
A hand
All this devastation supplies are high in demand
Texas strong is our motto and we prove it everyday
One thing about us Texans we don't play
Our piece of the map will recover please have no doubt
We may be heartbroken and exhausted but jus wait until our boots dry out
We will do it for the ones who didn't make it to stand with us
