That empty feeling
late at night

feeling empty is the most strangest way of feeling even tho I have felt it so many times I still don't know what it is and like many others I try to hide it from the eyes of the world putting a fake smile on my face is like changing my clothes but sometimes late at night when everyone is asleep and I know nobody can see or when the world is hiding from me I let my guard down and put the fake smile away for a moment and at that particular moment away from everybody away from Al the noise of the city that feeling of emptiness strikes at me and let's me wondering why I still struggle so much to do what everybody expects of me and as I wonder as I sit here writing this poem with no rhyme in it or no spectacularly facts the light of the sun rising slowly from the east strales my tired skin ones might say it's a sad or pitiful scenery but for me it's one of the realest feelings I get and here we go again blinded once that feeling slowly drives away looking for my fake smile to wear once more on this beautiful summer forenoon going once more with the flow of life like nothing even happened a little bit ignorant maybe

I loved the narration in this. There was a real sense of emptiness and isolation. I think most of us if not all can relate to having to wear a mask, a fake smile. We are made to feel we should fit in. Even if we naturally don’t. I really liked the moment you described the one real connection you get in this world. Your writing weighs the readers heart down. It’s very effective. A great start here on Cosmo. Welcome :)Â
I agree with Gwen! Some train of thought! It seems like your mind is so busy and running... but your heart is empty. Such a powerful write here, but I hope these comments and the write itself bring you some peace. Great write. Welcome to the Cosmos!!Â
welcome!.........................................................Jim
Poems dont have to rhyme! This is clearly a poem...and a beautifully written one because it has been written from the heart. We all wear masks of one kind or another. That empty feeling is more common than folks like to let on. Welcome to Cosmo x
Wow. You have a way with description! This is bitter sweet for me. Beautiful yet so emotional and real. Raw talent at its finestÂ
