The 27 Club

The 27 Club

He started a club, but was completely unaware..
That many would follow, and join his despair.
Robert Johnson the first, was a pioneer of rock..
Poisoned by jealousy his life came to stop.

Another one joined and his name was Brian Jones..
He was a founding member of the band "The Rolling Stones".
He took drugs and alcohol and decided to swim..
But the grim reaper had made other plans for him.

Canned Heats Alan Wilson, was too blind to see..
That he would be next making him number three.
LSD and alcohol took Jimi Hendrix as well..
A heroin overdose had Janice Joplin under a spell.

A poet, philosopher and lyricist of the Doors..
Constantly pushing boundaries and upseting the laws.
Cocaine, heroin and drinking made him late..
And this is how James Morrison met his awfull fate.

Another founding member, this time "Grateful Dead"..
Ron Mckernan loved to drink and his liver was overfed.
Pete Ham from Badfinger the lead man to sing..
Just days before his birthday his membership locked in.

Grunge man of Nirvana, the demise of Kurt Cobain..
Mental illness and drugs and conspiracies to explain.
And last but not least as Im sure there will be more..
Amy Winehouse decided to knock on heavens door.

In a matter of 27 years in the peak of their prime..
This club was formed by age, and left imprints in time!
Their lifestyles were fast and they never listened to advice..
And at the age of 27 they payed the ultimate price!
