The Alem Galem

The Alem Galem

My friend Bill had a killer auto, that looked so innocent;
Just a stripped down 55 Chevy, not much money on it spent!
But it held a little secret, underneath it’s large front hood;
A monstrous Corvette engine, 0 to 60, in seconds from where it stood!
.
In those days there were lots of Hotshots, who thought their cars were fast;
They’d laugh and give the finger, to the cars they easily passed!
We’d pull up to a light right next to one, he’d gun his engine, as if to say;
“Hey you in that junkmobile, I’m going to blow you right away”!
.
I’d look to Bill and smile, then say the code words that we used;
“Let’s give him the “”Alem Galem””, and watch him cry the blues”!
Bill would grab his strong Hurst gear shift, look over, and nod “Let’s race”;
The unsuspecting victim, would have a grin upon his face!
.
Both revving up their engines, the light would then turn green;
Bill’s car would spring to action, the fastest ever seen!
We’d leave him in our exhaust fumes, he could not believe his eyes;
Another victory for the “Alem Galem”, which went undefeated every try!
.
.
                             Sometimes innocence
                           Is mistaken for weakness
                             It’s strength so secret

It's so cool to read your narratives..... you're documenting your life in poetic terms and it's REALLY a pleasure..... your experiences in this life are truly compelling and seriously adventurous..... but what I liked the best about this piece was the Haiku at the end..... it made the entire write so much more profound...... beautifully done my friend!!......LOVE & ROCKETS!!.....T xo ???♥

My Dear Brother Poet Tony,

I have placed on Cosmo, some of the poems that I've written for my book, a poetic journey through my youth.
When I get rave reviews from poetic aficionados such as you, it gives me great hope that my forthcoming book will be successful.
Also, thanks for the kudos on the Haiku.  Every poem in my book, will be summarized by one.

Love you Bro,
Larry xxx
