THE BEAUTIFUL SWAN

THE BEAUTIFUL SWAN

Time has passed by
Years have come and gone
Now, old and grey
I'm still trying to move on
The damage was done
Leaving a half empty shell
The abuse has long been over
But fear and loneliness befell
I fought my way back
I tried hard, to survive
But without love, without trust
I'm living part-dead, half-alive
Without love, without trust
I'm just a half empty shell
Still strong, still surviving
Still dealing with shrapnel
But I'll keep on fighting
I'll keep holding on
I'll be the once, ugly duckling
Who becomes the beautiful swan

Lovely phrasing Gayle and such a compelling read! A life spent overcoming obstacles but ultimately through courage, strength and a positive attitude you are on the way to success and happiness. Very nice indeed!
