The Best of Mates

The Best of Mates

Big mates we were, when we were kids
we had some bumps and scrapes
We had some fallouts too you know,
but still the best of mates
I remember us playing darts one day,
you pointed to the bull
I threw my dart,it went through your finger,
those days were never dull
One fine day,we had a bike race,
laps around the block
Your head down and pedalling fast
with a lamppost,an abrupt stop
I remember a game of cricket,in your back garden we did play
And me being a part time dickhead, didn't listen to your dad that day
No over arm bowling, were the instructions that he said
I was the pilark who did the very opposite, was subsuquently sent to bed
We had some good times, when we were kids
We made the best of everything we did
 For values,we had good rates
We'll always be
The Best of Mates
