The box

Will I ever escape the prison I built?

The box

I am the girl in the box, be it a cage or a cave. I am the girl in the box.

You see me everyday with a smile on my face, until you see me once a week and my smile grew bleak. It fell from cheek to cheek, until I was stripped away to me.

The girl I hide inside who can’t be covered up anymore, that’s why I stay locked behind my closed door.

I am the girl in the box.

I could really feel that! ? Such simple imagery yet used so very effectively to evoke the sense.

Thank you for sharing
