The Cadaver In My Yard

The Cadaver In My Yard

A man had a dead body that he needed to discard.
While driving through my neighborhood, he dumped the cadaver in my yard.
I was shocked to find this man who had been stabbed in the chest.
The police thought that I was the killer and placed me under arrest.
When a man is falsely accused of murder, it gives new meaning to the word depression.
The Chief of Police came to my cell and the jerk demanded that I sign a confession.
Even though he beat me up, I wouldn't sign it because I had done no wrong.
The next day, the police discovered that the Chief was the murderer all along.
A boy found the Chief's watch at the place where it was lost when the murder occurred.
When the boy turned it in, the Chief said it wasn't his watch but nobody took his word.
The watch had the victim's blood on it and it had an engraving from the Chief's wife.
The DNA evidence was enough to send the Chief of Police up the river for life.
The victim was sleeping with the Chief's wife and that made him very mad.
Now the Chief is rotting in jail, there's nothing worse than a cop who goes bad.

I love the opening lines, "A man had a dead body that he needed to discard.
While driving through my neighborhood, he dumped the cadaver in my yard."
