The cat and the kitten
I have a naughty kitten,
Who curls up on my lap,
The house would be quite peaceful,
If he didn't harass the cat.
He lies in wait calculating,
Hidden behind the door,
And just when Pixie's walking by,
He pounces with his claws!
He's quite a cheeky chappie,
And he creeps up when she sleeps,
He crawls closer very slow,
And when it's right he leaps!
Poor Pixie just wants some quiet,
And snuggle on the bed,
I'm sure she'd have a better sleep,
If he didn't jump on her head.
But Pixie's getting clever,
Hide and seek is her new game,
She's hidden in her camouflage,
The house is her domain.
The kitten still needs teaching,
And who is better to teach?
Then the cat who's like an illusionist,
Hidden far beyond his reach.
She bides her time in silence,
Her focus purely on her prey,
Her eyes are wide and focused,
Now is her time to play.
Young Gizmo has no idea,
And he bounces in the room,
He looks around, the coast is clear,
No sign of impending doom.
Pixie's picked her moment,
And lunges with attack,
Pixie pounces with her pincers,
And pins Gizmo on his back.
So listen to your elders,
You'll learn a thing or two,
Or you could jump in with your claws,
And bite off more than you can chew.
