The Charmer

The cobra rose from the basket with a hissing sound,
I thought I'd give you a treat when you came around,
the the guy with the flute didn't bat an eyelid,
the snake's eyes followed you wherever you hid.
If I say you're lovely, will you believe me?
Words hang in the air like a romantic mystery,
you wonder if we care, accepted or not,
the snake cocked it's head, something I forgot?
If the music stops, you will retreat again,
back in your basket in a coil of pain,
give me the flute, I'll play the right notes,
to ensure that your charisma once more floats.
I'd never been to India but I loved you in my dreams,
on the misty slopes of Ooty where nothing's as it seems.

oooh I like this very much! Snakes no but the cobra is considered a very spiritual snake in the indian/hindu culture. How we can tame a snake through music. Great lines and verses. Proper fun read! Px
