Poem -
The Comet
Burning star
of fire and light,
diamond tip
of dust and ice,
through a billionย
cold stars and
blue shadow sky,
a soaring fire spirit
etching light,
upon the tapestry
of charts ofย
endless night.
Fire flower petal wings
of zenith flight,
into the black void
to chase away tear
storms of ice,
to set aglow flames
in new torrents of life
and caress the ashen brow
of mountains and clouds
with glazed Swallow tails
and oceans of stardust light.

Hi Gwen, hope you are very well. Thank you so much for your inspirational, thoughtful and lovely comments. I wrote this after observing the Green Comet a few weeks ago in the northern skies close to the constellation Ursa Minor and the Pole Star. In areas of low light pollution, it was possible to see it with the naked eye, although better observed with binoculars or a telescope. Absolutely fascinating and a once in a lifetime astronomical event. Did you see it? xx
You lucky duck Tony :) wish I had seen it but sadly no. Right now I am surrounded by waaaay to much light pollution. But at my mums house there is zero light at night. She is very high up and you can even see the Milky Way. I love it there. You cannot beat nature for its stunning natural wonders. I use to work nights on a coastal line and caught a meteor shower one night. Was amazing. So happy you got to catch this wonderful moment my friend. I hope you are keeping well xxย
