The Coming Spring Days
When the warm wind caresses my cheek
As I walk slowly through
The spring days of my life
I somehow intuit
That the memories in these moments
Will never change, never die
That they are etched forever
As "Still Life's" in the archives
Of the spirit that is myself
And so, as I grow older
I am no longer afraid
Of my youth fading away
But instead,
I am filled with a wonder
At the incredible beauty
within me,
The Loves and triumphs
That have come and gone
Are me... for me..... by me
A gift from the patience of time
And the wisdom found
From all the tragedy and pain,
And the magnificence to be found
As I anticipate
The coming of old age
IĀ marvel at the excitement I feel
At gathering my experiences
And using them to create
The very best man I can be
And perhaps,
Share these wonderments
InĀ unusual ways
WithĀ anyoneĀ I Love
Or songs I create
Especially when my heart
Is feeling this way,
So Overflowing
With this Love I'veĀ found,
In the coming,
Spring days
Of my life's,
Waning,
Sweet,
Simplicity...
