The Dark Is Now Light
As we gather at the table we give thanks
For all the blessings in our lives and the food we are about to eat
Though some of us choose the light and some of us choose the dark
The turkey meat disappears never the less
So the thunder rumbles in the late of November
And lightening strikes and the lights go out
Still there are people homeless in the streets with no food to eat
When the lights finally come back on I head to the streets
I have white and dark turkey to eat with cranberry stuffing on the side
The guy with his hands shaking cold reaches out in the dark with thankful eyes
But the guy behind him is blind and the one next to Jim is crippled in a chair
What is fair about all of this and these just happen to be our veteransÂ
Those that served in the military fighting protecting our nation from the enemy
Is it possible that we have become our own enemy
To ourselves we do unjust  and to those in need
Where can we go from here shall our open arms of caring be in vain
Until we know our dreams are what keeps us sane
Now, let the light turn off any darkness that shall prevailÂ
And let the dark become light
as we know the dark is now the light in all that fight for our  Veterans rights
