The Dodo

The Dodo

I'm extinct, but I left my mark on the ground,
in fact, I even left this Earth without a sound;
I used to see my relative, rodrigues solitaire,
we're supposed to leave a legacy about animal care.

We came first, only then did humans evolve,
look at the intelligence we passed on to you,
paramount, then you say: 'Don't be a dodo!'
you can thank us now for everything you do.

We may return to reclaim our piece of the pie,
you think we were stupid because we couldn't fly;
we'll put you in cages while the virus rages,
release you, under supervision, in Earthly stages.

I see a passing dinosaur trying to have sex,
he's gone, don't be too cocky - it could be your turn next.
