The Eccentricities of You
To Celebrate Autism Awareness Week - That Someone Unique

Precise by nature
Your fascination transfixed -
Within a realm only you can see
Bemused - I watch in awe
Your prowess of perfection
Unique perception
Causes my own mind to rewire its train of thought
Giving cause to questionÂ
My own reality - on all I see
Suddenly I feel renewedÂ
Brewed from your enigmatic lightÂ
I am drawn ever more into your way of thinking
Sinking into your gazeÂ
I am amazedÂ
There within the core of all that drives your mind
I find the child inside
SmilingÂ
BeguilingÂ
I finally feel your grace
In haste
We embraceÂ
You see me as I see youÂ
I pull you through
Amalgamating our worlds -
You begin to unfurl Â
Together -
We find our place between the two
Guided by the eccentricities of you

Hi Gwen. I love this amazing write on autism awareness. You have cleverly written some brilliant lines to explain how others may perceive them and I love the togetherness of it at the end to embrace all our different qualities!Â
it's just awesome. Is this a topic where familiar to you?
I read the book the curious incident of the dog in the night time....when it came out....and i was just pulled into that world....it was so insightful to perceive how they saw the world. Have you read it?
Sssoo pinned for super perfection! Px
will catch up on your others xxx
Pratibha thank you so very much ❤️ This is a subject very close to my heart. A lot of my family have autism. Including my son. I have worked in Autism for 8 years. But it was my son that really opened my mind as a parent to that wondrous connection autism can bring. Many mistake the need for suppressing autism in their kids. But actually it is by embracing their unique ways, connecting to their world, you will broaden their bubble, until your world and theirs are one. I am so thrilled you could see what I was trying to convey
Made my day đź’›
I plan to find that book xx
Gwen Â

The boy would take a piece of lent off his clothes and watch it float to the ground over and over and so I began to do the same and made a connection with him! it was awesome! thanks again!.................Jim

GwenÂ
A merging of two people. Yep I can positively say that your poetry is always so unique and well styled Gwen. Perhaps more so than mine. I love the subtle intricacies of this one and the sense of excitement you create within the reader. Perhaps you should be entering the competition, not me XD. Just simply fantastic work here.
Thanks for the lovely feedback Max. Always so lovely to hear your thoughts on my work. I am not one to try and steal someone’s possible thunder, I am rooting for you ;) I hope you win, and it helps you feel more confident in your writings because you ARE GOOD :)Â
your poetic friendÂ
GwenÂ
What an amazing write! Would love to do a difference of opinion poem with yourself on any given subject. Not an argument as mqy share the same views but write it verse by verse? I'm trying new things out as my autobiography/anthology of my tumultuous life is due to be published soon and how I've kept my cancer at bay for 20 years instead of the 8 weeks it should have killed me in.Â
either way, collaboration or not, it's always nice to get new followers.Â
yours hopefully,Â
James BevanÂ
Hello James,Â
wow you have had quite the journey, you must let me know your book once it is out. I would love to read it. I am thrilled you liked my piece. Definitely inbox me regarding the collaboration and I will give it a good goÂ
Gwen :)Â
Wow!!! Gwen...this is as amazingly beautiful as it is stunning. To find, know and embrace the 'special' in a person, to glory in that uniqueness. To understand the beauty that doesn't need to and shouldn't conform because in nearly all cases it is more pure and beautiful that any idea of 'normal' that we can conjure up. I also love this because I can apply it to all aspects of mental health, to all the people who don't fit 'the box' and are rejected by a small minded society that just doesn't get that...there IS no box big enough or special enough ...a special write đź’–

Awe Marion you made me well up with your beautiful feedback and insight on this piece. You are so right. Mental health is still not understood. There is a need to conform and suppress. It doesn’t help but hinders a soul. There are a lot of ASD adults who now suffer from PTSD because of the therapy received, which forced them to suppress their autism. It is sad, as it still goes on. Thank you for you lovely words ❤️
♥️💚🧡
wonderful poemÂ
Thanks ever so much Greg :)
Simply wondrous Gwen. Your creativity, empathy and understanding is here for all to feel and embrace. XÂ
Thank you so much Dan, so pleased you liked this one. It is a subject close to my heartÂ
Gwen :) x
Gwen, you express your heartfelt deep thoughts on the subject matter so well and so empathetically moving to read. It is an issue of concern for everyone on quality of life for those afflicted and never should be tucked away or ever ignored but addressed up front and personal to register with people unaffected.
And your poem and your writing choose to do that and give a damn about it.
And kudos to your good self for doing just that.
A great write with a great and loud message not to be ignored but championed by all concerned.
Great to see and great to read.Â
Â
Hello Shaun, your words resinate with my own. If only more could see. Thank you for sharing your wonderful thoughts on this subject which is so dear to my heart. I am as ever truly gratefulÂ
