The Egotist

The Egotist

Some people don't listen, only to themselves,
even then they just take fake off their shelves;
it's no matter, they know who they really are,
like names on a monopoly board below par.

It's lucky my wife isn't on the jury again -
because she would hang the lot of them,
I'm more lenient - that's my own decision,
rather just chide and treat them with derision,

We need someone to smack a few wrists,
to rid ourselves of these stupid egotists,
so why should we really just need to abide,
even correct their errors by trying to hide.

So we should accept that nice word: wonderful,
when decent people are an example to us all.

Man Oh Man!! ~ Have you got a way with words TERRY.....you've chosen great subject matter to write on here......so many people don't make the effort to really know who they are....and it seems easier to just ~ "Take fake off their shelves"......but eventually ~ ALL of us wind up taking a long hard look at who we really are....usually when it's to late to do anything about it.....or the fortunate souls who die young and never really get the chance......Anyway, impressive!!.....this is another most intriguing sonnet brother!!......ALL STARS!!......Love your stuff!!......LOVE & ROCKETS!!.......T xo  : )
