The Falling of Fall

The maple trees shiver, leafs red fire
Across the river a doe takes a drink
Morning air is clean and crisp
While a hawk circles, hunger callingΒ Β Β Β Β Β
Birch trees ripped, and rippling yellow
Harbor the buck slowly eating his fill
Azure skies foretell frosty meadows
As geese fly, arrowshot, southward

HI rebecca. I like the serenity of nature, I like nature inspired poems like yours. I am however, jealous
of the colours that you get to see. We dont get mass of colour like that here in NZ.
Cheers Byd0nz
Hello Byd0nz. Thank you for stopping by and reading.Β
The color is splendid in this area, but it lasts for maybe three days at the peak. We do enjoy spots of it as the season progresses, but the burst of it is quick and very sweet. It is easy to miss if the clouds hang low and the rain is falling.Β
I am a bit jealous too. I've always wanted to visit your neck of the woods, but haven't gotten there. Thanks again and have a great weekend.Β
