The First Door That Opens

I'm not sure how it started,
It all went by in a flash,
One minute I was on top of the world,
The next, I was made of glass.
Life goes by so quickly,
We try to live it right,
But we don't really know how fragile we are,
Until our hearts explode, just like dynamite.
I wrote this poem for you,
Oh since you find it fitting,
To tell me that you love me,
But then tear me into pieces.
You should not feel ashamed,
For I enjoyed my time with you,
You gave me everything that I wanted,
But took it back, how dare you?
This is not a guilt trip for you,
Nor a pity party for me,
But I am not necessarily pleased,
That you chose to kill my glee.
I don't know why I fell so hard,
It always ends with tears,
But I was oblivious to your personality,
I just wanted you here.
You've cost me many tears,
You've managed to lose my trust,
So next time I won't go in the first door that opens,
Because it doesn't always lead to true love.
