THE GRAND PIANO

THE GRAND PIANO

The grand piano stood in the grand dining roomĀ
Cared for and looked after like a new born from a womb
Played on by the residents of the houseĀ
Sometimes very loudly and sometimes quiet as a mouse

The grand piano didn't want anything in returnĀ
Just happy that the residents had new tunes to learnĀ
Such sweet music the residents all played
Hitting the right notes and earning top gradeĀ

The grand piano was at least one hundred years oldĀ
Would come in very useful when the weather turned coldĀ
That's when the grand piano I'm afraid no longer stoodĀ
Chopped up into little pieces and used as kindling wood
