THE GRANDFATHER CLOCK

It's time for me to unwind the grandfather clock said
I have told the time for years and want to go to bed
Always been punctual and never been late
Every hour I chime if you are prepared to wait

I stand in the hall just below the stairs
Ticking and tocking but nobody cares
I'm a family heirloom so I've been told
It's nice being inside and I'm never cold

Time I was going nothing lasts forever
You will find the time somewhere else if you're clever
My final tick is about to be tocked
The residents of the house will be totally shocked
