Poem -

the hard floor

the hard floor

Life is a black flower
A night closer
Opening into a yellow rose
Hope rather ~
Day folds into night
Life into death
Tears fall over cliffs
As eagles soar
Children are born
Mothers and
Fathers die
A slug traverses slowly
Leaving a trail
Across the concrete wall
The death of the street
In the crease of the homeless
Ye shall know the hard floor upon
Which humanity lay
As time plays
With naiivity
For life is a black flower
Opening into a yellow rose

Nevertheless
Beneath
The dreadlocks
Beneath
The mohawk
The heart...

In My
Skin
My
