The Heart Bereft
ββββββFlailing under godless skies, I grasp
My souls cry only heard in rolling thunderΒ
Anvilled hooks of desperation clasp
My hope of other lives my only wonder
Desolate like shores in winter wind
Full soul given, now only to rescind
Shook and sodden under frozen, throwing rain
I feel it not through this raw, merciless pain
Shiver tho' I may, it touches not the dark of day
That waits for me in loveless years of yonderΒ
Icy fingers beckon me to grace another day
Leave me only hesitant as sorrow scars my way
Uncertainty encompassing my shredded, clouded mind,Β
That I shall not see you there,Β
as well, I may be blind
A life with no you,Β
painting dim and greying hue
Like aftermath of storm
ββββββ..... no home to find
