THE HOURGLASS

THE HOURGLASS

I tried to stop the grains of sand

From quickly slipping by

To stop the moments from getting away

But oh how time does fly

I have to grab the time I have

For I may not have tomorrow

The thought of time getting away

It fills my heart with sorrow

I'm not ready to leave this life

But time's not on my side

One night, I'll fall fast asleep

And awake to find I've died

Don't let me sleep my life away

For life is all too brief

Every morning that I wake up

I breath a new sigh of relief

I tried to stop the grains of sand

From quickly slipping by

But time controls the hourglass

And one day I will die

But for now, I'll keep my eyes wide open

And make the most of each new day

I'll learn to make the most of life

Before time slips away
