The Hungry Ghosts

Hell or Heaven?

The dark and hungry ghosts lurk outside my door
I can hear their agony as it crosses to my ear
In such a place I linger feeling such unease
That when we pass we do not go on
But still are tormented in the other world
I doubted heaven when I was young
Knew hell at first hand
Now I wonder
If we are in this realm all together
The undead, the dead and the damned

You have put into words what I feel. Such a catastrophic personal loss...for me...immediately made me question any goodness in the universe at all. I no longer feel safe and worry that my loved one is not safe...after all, if this world is an unsafe place why do we assume that what comes next is any better. If something else exists after death it seems to me a vile and cruel system and could beings of love actually perpetuate such agony?
Sorry ..I ramble lol...I'm a little on the mad side these days. Great write x
