The Illusion of Choice

The Illusion of Choice

Some of us make careful plans and map out our lives
While others allow the current of life to take them
The planners are comforted by the illusion of choice
They have control, so they think, over the daily mayhem

It is said God laughs at the best laid plans of men
Fulfill your destiny is another catchy phrase
Do the choices we make matter in the end?
As we navigate our way through life's maze

Or are we destined to live life as planned
By a power beyond our comprehension?
Powerless to make the slightest change of course
Or get the puppet masters attention
