The Inevitable

My head is pounding today

I wake to the mayhem of laughter
Laughter at the awfulness of man
From the cynical eye of critics
Comes ridicule, revolution, and revolt

I try to go back to sleep
But the jackhammer keeps on whining
Policies riot, residents spy, cameo living
On this planet of miscommunication

My head is pounding today
I wish I could make it go away
Unrest is rising, anger is roiling
Chaos is around to stay
