The labyrinth of life

Life isn’t simple,
it’s like a maze,
a never ending labyrinth of dead ends,
full of misdirection and deceit,
until you find your way to the centre,
to a moment of bliss,
just to realise you no longer know how to escape,
and the panic sets in,
and you finally see that it’s never really what you wanted, and you can’t figure out where your truly meant to be,
so you backtrack,
for one step forward it’s two steps back,
and you feel hopeless,
trapped in an abyss of unwanted emotions,
until there’s a glimmer of hope,
a light at the end of the tunnel,
enticing you to follow,
to your salvation or damnation,
but at this point does it even matter,
because an end is still an end,
either way we all end up dead
