The local ice rink

“Mam’ma will you take me to a local ice skating rink” now then it’s along time since I was on the ice, before I answer her I better think.. “I went many years ago when I was only very small and to tell you the truth my little one, I was not good at all”  “But Oh Mam’ma please” dam and blast she said that polite ‘please’ word, I will have to take her to the dreaded ice rink and look like a complete nerd

“Okay my Chickadee we will go on the ice today, I shall try my very utmost to help you come what may” So of course the two of us go along speedily we go there in haste, my young Granddaughter has got absolutely no time to waste..well we have our boots laced up, both standing on the ice..”Stay close to the edge and hold my hand” is my wise advice.. but ‘Oh my God’ has she done this before, I try to grasp her tiny hand but she’s left me standing on the icy floor..how an earth can children know exactly what to do, as I’m stuck motionless without a hint of a Scooby do.. I stand awe-inspired as my Granddaughter whizzes around like a pro dancing on the ice to her favourite chart buster sound, you should have seen her go

So after an hour’s long humiliating scene, I’m feeling rather embarassed if you know what I mean..my Granddaughter comes back to me she’s only nine years old, I beckoned her away from friends she found and she did as she was told.. “Hi Mam’ma well how did you get on ? I’m sorry I just left you but I was having so much good fun” “ Haha I’ve loved it I lie, I’ve really had a ball” tho I wonder did she notice I could hardly keep my balance at all ? “Oh Mam’ma I’m so pleased you loved it, doesn’t it feel absolutely insane, and please can we come back tomorrow to meet my friends again ?” ?
