Poem -

The Loop We Exist In

By Taylor M Hope

“I am looking at eyes that have looked at the Emperor.”
To do, to undergo, to look.
Reproduces to infinity has only occurred once:
I was sure existed for me,
nothing,
a corpus:
only some bodies.
 I could not speak,
only two experiences:
that of the observed subject and that of the subject observing...
I don’t know how to work upon my skin from within
(which is why society sustains it)
 I do not stop imitating myself,
 a subject
 who feels they are becoming
an object:
experienced a micro-version of death.
 Always leads the corpus I need back to the body I see;
They are glued together,
limb by limb,
like the condemned man and the corpse in certain tortures;
class of laminated object whose two leaves cannot be
separated without destroying them both.
Of that emotion (or that essence) I could not speak,
Since no one seemed to share it,
nor even understand it,
I forgot about it.

Being Me

Well constructed. I do like your first line

“I am looking at eyes that have looked at the Emperor.”

This line had me intrigued and I read on...so great job there!  I have to be very honest, though, and say that I did not understand the poem ...but the words, as I say, are well constructed so I give you 5 stars  x
