The lover's riddle

The lover's riddle

The heavy weight t'was lifted
The words I spoke, spoke to you,
We had our growing aches & pain
In our everlasting love duel so true,
Your words, your touch, engraved in me
Love your humour, wit & charm,
T'was your answer yes, made me whole
I bring you protection, warmth & no harm,
You raised my day when I was feeling low
And sweetheart,I hope for you I did the same,
The weight I carried, thinking I had surely lost
A lover, & friend I memorised the beauty of a name,
Never is the day that I'd run to you
Awkward silence, the smile remembering when,
An innocent love & world once surrounded
The first love kept inside of all women & men,
All the young, loves plans we'd sit & make
I look back & wish, that it was just a dream,
We went our separate ways, found someone new again
Still for you, I hold for you an original lovers seam.
