The Memories

The memories we've shared are coming back to haunt and taunt me
The memories of you hurting me
The memories of you crushing my sanity
The memories of you killing me so blindly
By telling me things I used to love hearing you say so kindly
But then everything is always good in the beginning, butterflies and lies
Now everyday is torture, and my heart is still screaming out gut wrenching cries
Because something happened, something in your mind snapped
You said you loved me, but your actions kept me scared and trapped
The memories we've shared are growing to be stories untold
Stories that need to be heard, so the next generations aren't so mean and cold
But it's not my responsibility to try and save this world
When I can't even save myself, and I'm just one lonely girl
Because the memories we've shared won't let me go, won't let me be free
Because the more I try to erase them, the tighter they cling on to me
