The Mirror Lies Broken
When justified anger is judged unjust,
Unable to vent, where none may judge,
Eyes are fixated, upon every movement,
The gavel now trembling, in the hand of the offender,
The victim a mirror, of cause & effect,
In self preservation, no conscience reflects,
For the tale must be truth, if the claim is believed,
The truth now lies fallow, delusion consumed,
The offender portrays victim, exempt from inquiry,
The victim now questioned, on the will of the assailant,
Liability relinquished, for it is they who now judge,
The offender content, the mirror lies broken.

Such a compelling & powerful piece of work. Poetry reflecting a path many have to tread. Sadly. I loved the flow & rhythm. Well done ? xx
Thankyou ❤
Graham, this is another class write from you! The law, they say, is an ass. I applaud you for digging deep and writing about such a heartbreaking position to be in. I pray all ends up well. Take care... Hugs x
