The Motherland

The Motherland

It's gone, but no it hasn't, we've still got Cheshunt;
now, you Americans must forgive my nationalistic text,
and be prepared for whatever I have to say next,
the days of empires are gone but the legacy lingers on.

Read all about it - statues pulled down, we're a clown,
street names changed - let's airbrush all of it chaps,
now that's done, start again, perhaps hang on to Canada.

All those slaves - we didn't need em, couldn't feed em,
everything has to be equal,
in future - watch what you say,
In fact, the anti-monarchists
are pissed - won't be missed,
but watch the space, it's not over, this homo sapien race.

I pass the Roman ruins, a reminder, fools should be kinder,
now you're looking for retribution - it's too late to find her.

Hello Terry...

Changing the names of Schools and encountering gender change...

The Motherland has created a crazy train...

Many people are eager to ride...

Many people want to stay on...

Great write...

Thank you for sharing...
