The New Forty Two
My heartfelt thanks may not seem much
written down with tainted touch.
Disappointment hinders me
no happy birthday for Carey
by my so-called family.
The only cheers that healed my tears
came from ‘you’ after 42 years.

At 42 I learnt something new…
That only the phony and lonely make do.
Patience, persistence,
survival, resistance
paved way for today…
‘The birth of my existence’
Poised in optimistic pout
I’ve missed you all throughout this drought.
I’d never benefit from doubt
because you’re what loves’ all about!
This dedication I decided to write,
right here where I sit at my desk tonight
is signed with sincerity and sent by insight.
A poet, an artist…
‘The birth of my creation’
truly came to life with appreciation.
