The Perfect Match

Everyone is looking for that perfect match it seems
Love, passion, companionship, understanding
All rolled into one package and wrapped with dreams

And then suddenly we find It and float like a feather
Laughter, joy and love abounds as we share our stories
And begin the first day of the rest of our lives together

Or so we think, until the virus called time mutates things
We find ourselves inexplicably at odds with one another
Life is now mundane, boring and a new bell rings

In the form of a new girl or guy igniting the spark once more
"Oh what was I thinking? I should have waited for her or him."
For this is the real love of my life - I love him/her to the core

This cycle repeats for some of us throughout our days
As we keep looking for that someone just around the corner
That "perfect fit" who will get us out of this maze

So as we look for everlasting chemistry and passion
We lose our chance at true love and devotion
A life long commitment to another. Never out of fashion!
