THE POETS POEM
Pen to paper as you let
the words start to flow
Wondering where is this
poem going to go
What has inspired you today
what will you write
what has provoked a feeling
for your words to take flight
You want to write that poets poem
the one,in which you will take great pride
The poem of poems that came
from your soul, deep down inside
when you start to write,your thoughts
are racing and the adrenaline is flowing
So you keep on writing while the
creativity inside of you is growing
To write that poets poem, the one
that would make you feel,so sublime
A feeling that will take you, to seventh heaven
sat upon that cloud number nine.

Hi Richard I think the inspiration for this write
came from Tony when he wrote in a comment
once this could be a poets poem and it stayed in my mind
I agree that everyone will relate to the feeling
you get when you get emotion across or a message in your work
it makes me feel as i have said in my write, and i also
feel it it when i read peoples work.

I love the spirit tone and organic construction of this poem, deborah, yes you nailed the 'motivation' (for lack of a better word) that keeps the reader writing and posting poetry on this site....personally, when that 'longing' is gone to write the 'ultimate' standard bearing poem, what is really the reason to move the pen to write and post? Wow what a fantastic thought to capture, it's poetry like this that reminds me that there really is a 'community' here, simple and beautifully expressed word play, really edifying, deborah....cheers friend
