Poor Little Boy

Poor Little Boy

His had been a very difficult life
From when he knew his left from right
There was always one or two hurdles
Or yet one or another trouble
He had no friends, no one found him lovable
As his poverty was very visible
He came back from school one day
And found his dad had left that day
He was left with just his mum
To face the world as it comes
Life became more difficult for them
As every nickel was spentย
Lots of bills were unpaid
That made him really afraid
He never had new clothes
All he had were what others disposed
His shoes always had holes
As he walked for miles to school
He never had birthday cake
His mum couldn't afford to bake
He would cry himself to sleep
His thoughts always deep
He is driven by tenacity
He believes he has the capacity
To make it in the future
That is what gives him succorย
He would be great tomorrow
And mum would never borrow
He has great dreams and aspirations
No matter what life throws at him there is never a deviation

Poor little boy.....

Wow ROSE!!..... this is truly powerful...... the simplicity is befitting for such complicated subject matter....... the delivery is so poetically perfect for it speaks to the heart of a problem that is supported by fund raisers from people that created the poverty problem in the very first place....... hats off to you girlfriend........PINNED for being representative of the inner strength required it takes to rise from the hypocritical ashes of being poor in America....... and ALL STARS for rubbing those self same stars on the flag in the faces of the AMERICAN rich!!....... kick ass write!!.......T xo........?

My darling little Rosebud,

I`m so very, very proud of you sweetie. This piece is simply gorgeous my darling. I love the positive ending that shows that though life is hard and we have many knock backs and poverty is rife, there is also a strength in all of us that helps us all to fight to make it through life the best we can and to make the best out of our situations and more importantly to make life better for others along the way.

We can all do this by thinking more of others less fortunate, and simply working hard together to make this world a better place for all. The message you show your readers here in this piece is very clear and beautiful, and that is that we must never give up trying and we must all do our best for others less fortunate than us by helping in any way we can. After all a kind word or a helping hand to someone in need of support costs absolutely nothing and it makes such a big difference to that person that you`ve helped and they will never forget you either.

God gave us the gift of life and we all have the same responsibility for each other to show love and kindness because love is free and brings so much joy to those you pass it on to each day.

Well done for a wonderfully well written and very well thought out piece my darling, it brought tears to me too but they were tears of pride in my little Rosebud.

I love you sweetie

G xx

I find this so very sad.....yet, encouraging. I like it!..good job Rose, in relaying the boys emotions to us .......and pulling us into his world. This happens so much in this world to so many. I love the ending......unexpected! I like the way you bring in his plans for his family as well.....and that his spirit can't be broken....precious. It made me reflect on many......Albert Einstein whose teacher thought him dumb....a child not holding any promise!.....Thomas Edison and his hundreds of tries! Michael Jordan......several failures in basketball before he made it big! Emily Dickenson....so humble ...unsure of her own gift and talent.....not sure her writing even counted in her moments alone.....ย now well known world wide......ย as one of the greatest poets/writers of ALL time! If this world could only learn to hold one another up and encourage........always! What a gift that would be. Your sweet spirit and heart comes across in your writing Rose. God bless you for it! Have a nice evening..............ย  Paula
