The Queen

The Queen

Rest in peace to Her Majesty,
The powerhouse in a small shell,
A lover of horses and corgis,
Grandeur was alive and well.

Today we mourn a great loss,
Tears will flood London streets,
A lady who could be your grandma,
An awe inspiring person to meet.

She was committed to a life of duty,
Someone with resilience and poise,
An upholder of centuries traditions,
A mother to a girl and three boys.

Her majesty was bigger than her body,
She represented all of her kingdom,
A figurehead to our armed forces,
Reliable in the source of wisdom.

Philip awaits you in the afterlife,
It was painful when he had left,
Take a walk amongst your ancestors,
And leave us all here bereft.
