The Rain My Friend

The rain gushed down the banks under the willows and brush of Africa
Traveling. From afar tourists with binoculars, cameras, tents, and such
To see the sights of the exotic creatures running free
Leaving behind a forrest tree from the United States, a gift of trade
After opening the limbs fell and spread wide, but much surprise
A small screech owl nesting snug, then shaken away he flew into the silver back country
Where a baby gorilla just a few months old was playing
The sound of the little owl hiding in a fruit tree aroused the young gorilla
The gorilla named Rain shook the fruit and tumbling down came the screech owl
A feather dropped into the young silverbacks hand
His eyes grew large with shock as he swept up the little bird in his enormous hand
Not a day went by without the little guy on top of Rains back
As the gorilla orphaned , poachers killed his parents
The two would become best of friends forever together never alone
From one country to another, not the same breed, not knowing hate, just to know kindness overcomes
And can turn into love

Beautifully described. I loved both the imagery created and the sentiment delivered to the reader. A lovely write. if only we could all get along so easilyÂ
